KABUL: A magnetic bomb targeted a military vehicle, killing two people and wounded another one in the PD 7 of Kabul city’s Jangalak neighborhood.

One of the dead was civilian, Kabul police said in a statement on Monday without providing further details.

Nobody asserted responsibility for the attack. Prior to that a roadside mine targeted the vehicle of chief of staff for the state minister for peace, Khoshnod Nabizada. An armored Land Cruiser was hit by a roadside bomb in Shahid crossroad in PD 10 of Kabul city, Kabul police said, adding that the blast didn’t inflict any casualty.

A spokesman peace ministry, Najia Anwari blamed the Taliban for the attack, saying that ongoing violence is affecting the people of Afghanistan. “The people wish for end of violence and ceasefire agreement.

As the peace negotiations between the government and Taliban are yet to make progress, the people bear a sharp spike in violence across the country. Kabul has recently seen waves of targeted-killings and magnetic bombs, in which several media professionals and high-profile figures were killed.
